ramblings

Thanks so much for all the virtual hugs and well wishes.  Everyone is fever free!  Inhalers are still being used and we're finishing up the antibiotics but we're knee deep back into our lives again.
And that means lots of time at the basketball court.   We are a basketball family.  John coaches, I help run the book, take the pictures, pack the dinners, keep the schedules......you get the idea.  Maggie, Mckenzie and John Samuel all play - on different teams.  That means lots of games and even more practices.
So, to say that I feel a bit distracted is an understatement.  In between running here and there and shouting from the bleachers; these are the things that are dribbling through my mind:
* I finished knitting my vest and am frantically patiently searching for a time when I can seam it and block it.
* I really need to come up with a plan for our entry way...this is what I look at all the time as we're coming and going.  Coats and shoes are everywhere.
* Sandwiches for dinner are getting old....I'm longing for lasagna and crusty garlic bread
* Valentines would be so fun to make and send, but I'm guessing my family would prefer that I go grocery shopping instead.

* I'm thankful for John Samuel's workbook time as that's when I sit with him and work on some stitching....some days it's the only time I get to stitch/knit/sew.
*  I wish Chipotle's chips and guac weren't so good....I like them way too much!
*Why does it take Molly so long to go to the bathroom when everything is snow covered and iced up and I'm certain it all just smells frozen?
So...there.  Now you know the inner ramblings of a basketball mom who is longing for warmer temps and some time at home.  What's going through your mind lately?

great minds...
going through my mind? how much time do you have? I'm struggling to appreciate all that mothering is offering me (that sounds awful written out); wishing I could knit or stitch or both; and creating Valentines in my mind. so happy to hear all are on the mend!

Well, right now I'm thinking: "mmmmmm...lasagna and garlic bread...crave, crave, crave." ; ) Maybe I'll have to put it on the menu for next week!

I'm glad to hear that you're all feeling better, and I hope that you survive basketball season with some crafty sanity. : ) (Did that even make sense?)

So glad you guys are feeling better. What is it with snow and little doggies not wanting to go potty? Our doggies "business" was the topic of my 21 year olds facebook status. Good grief. And we are getting more snow today.

My first reactions to your blog were that I wished I was back where you are now and then why don't we have a Chipolte near by. Then I got a grip on myself. It was a very busy time. Enjoy yourself life will be quiet before you know it! I'm trying hard to not wish too much for spring.

Dogs....Mine is the same way. Twenty circles later, she's right back where she started.

I'm glad everyone is on the mend. Are you ready for March Madness?

I think you need a few more hours in your day. Definitely.

So glad to hear everyone's better! And the life of a busy mom with a young family. . . I remember those days ;). But now, I'm a not so busy granny, and I have to say, there are good things about both phases of life. So hang in there, your granny days will come -- faster than you think ;)!
Blessings,
GG

Oh, a quick p.s. . . our little dog, Buddy, got up & looked out the window at the snow we had last week, and he just stood there barking at it. So funny - guess he thought it was the result of some strange squirrel attack or racoon invasion. He then took two steps out into the strange white stuff and immediately turned around and ran back into the house. I found one grassy spot under an eave and had to take him there to answer the call of nature ^v^. Silly old thing!

I'm so glad to hear you're all better. I'll tell that what went through my mind as I looked at your photos was: 'She thinks that hallway is a mess?? That's what ours looks like once we've tidied up!' I wish you a bit more time to knit and stitch. I go a little crazy when I can't...

Glad to hear everyone is now feeling better. I love the visit. It looks amazing.
I want lasagna and have it on my dinner list. Wish I could make you some and bring it over.

Glad everyone's feeling better. Maybe for valentine's day you should make a big dinner like the lasagna, sounds like everyone would appreciate that :)

I alway love seeing what you are working on. I was hoping, if you have the time, maybe you could take us through the process of blocking your vest. I have wanted to purchase the items to block. In all these years of knitting, I've never blocked an item. I didn't know I needed to. I have no idea where to begin.
