I saw some decorated moleskines journals awhile ago....I loved them...and I filed the idea away. (there really is quite a bit filed away in my brain...it's retrieving it that can be tricky)

Fast forward many moons and I was in line at Barnes and Noble buying a knitting magazine and they had a rack of moleskines right by the check out line! Whamo! Perfect! Just what I had been looking for! (well in a subliminal way) So over the weekend I decorated my own.

I kept one for myself and two are in the mail as secret surprises! They were surprisingly easy to decorate and fun to design. The worst part was changing the thread for each color of the design. If you see some moleskines (great little journals) when you're out shopping, you should pick some up and give this a try! If you're not a sewer...you could totally embellish these with scrapbook stuff.
