We're on our last official stretch of summer. School starts in about a week and the machine of routine will get back into gear. Some of us are excited for school to start. Some of us are not quite there yet. Hopefully in another 13 days we'll all be ready. I've been getting us ready and mapping out our schedules and curriculum. The bookshelves are loaded up and ready to go.
It's going to be a great school year...it's going to be a great school year, it's going to be a great school year....(can you tell who's not quite ready yet?)
In other news, our painting project is well underway. My honey, who is ever thoughtful and has my best interest at heart, hired a painter to come in and do the painting. He didn't want me wiped out and tired going into the start of the school year. Isn't he great? So, while they're painting...I'm blogging. Pretty good deal, huh? Here's the color I chose...it's called Desert Tumbleweed by Sherwin Williams. I'm really loving it. The trim is Pacer White also by Sherwin Williams. I'll show more pictures later when the drop cloths are all folded up and the rubble has cleared.
In the meantime, I thought I'd wrap up summer by squeezing every last drop of goodness out of the season. I'll post a photo each day (or so) with something I'm savoring as summer winds up. Feel free to join me as I savor summer.

LOVE that soft mocha color you've chosen, Lisa... And fantastic you got some painting help--YES! I will have to talk to my hubby about that when next we paint. ;o) Hope all goes well these last days before big start to new school year--always exciting! Happy Days ((HUGS))
I love the idea of savoring the last days of summer. My mind has been wishing for fall and I hate to wish time away. I can't wait to see the results of the painting.
We are trying to enjoy the last bit of summer here before we start up with school again. I love the new paint color. How wonderful to have some painters to do the work. I have been painting things since May and I can't wait until it's all done. Right now I'm working on kitchen cabinets.

Hurray for your husband! And hurray for those painters. Anytime you can be freed up to blog is a good time (for all of us!). You just keep psyching yourself into the right frame of mind for school. Ours doesn't start until September 8.
School starts here on August 16th. We are going to try to squeeze in one last camping trip, over the weekend, before they head back. The grand kids are so excited!
What a nice hubby you have to help you out by hiring somebody to finish up that painting job. It is looking so pretty!! :)
Enjoy the last of our summer. The Fall season is one of my very favorites. I can't wait for the cooler weather, and pumpkin pies!

Isn't it just crazy how fast summer has gone by?! You are so brave to homeschool -- hope you give yourself many pats on the back.
Love the paint job -- so classy looking. And how great that it's not a DIY job -- painting = blech ;-)!
Blessings,
G
p.s. love the cardi too -- gorgeous sunny color!
Great color! I'm getting ready to paint our family room, but not sure of the color I want yet. I hate picking out paint, there are just too many options. Enjoy what's left of summer!
Delicious color ... and what a treat to have it applied by someone else :-)
Good luck getting ready for the school year. At least everything is all tidy and inviting ... maybe that will help you get in the groove.
It's going to look great!! thanks again for sewing my button back on my purse! You are wonderful!
i'm ready for fall but not ready for school and everything else!
amazing that you homeschool!
great paint colours.
How wonderful is your husband for getting you some help! Love the clear, sandy color you chose. I'm using a similar color for accessories and pillows and pairing it with white paint - makes everything look much cleaner. So glad you were able to get in some extra computer time - i love reading about what you've been up to. Can't believe you're all ready to begin your school year. Our school doesn't start until September 8th and we're gearing up for a Taekwondo tournament in NC in a week. Posting a photo sounds like a great idea and i will join you - on the days that i actually remember to take a photo.
It IS going to be a great year!
looks like you're getting things in order! love the color choices. and how husbandly sweet of john to hire painters! enjoy the last moments of your summer!
