embrace life

Summer is here!  I've been wanting to make a summer list; you know things that need to get done, things we want to do for fun and just some extra special things.  Thinking through what should go on that list can be overwhelming to me, but while I was reading and doing my quiet time this morning, I found the perfect summer (really all year) list already composed.

"Whoever wants to embrace life
and see the day fill up with good,
Here's what you do.
Say nothing evil or hurtful;
Snub evil and cultivate good;
Run after peace for all you're worth.
God looks on all this with approval..."  1 Peter 3:10-12 (The Message)

That was just what I needed to get my mind wrapped around what I really want for our summer.  So friends, I hope that you'll join me this summer embracing life and filling up your days with good.  Happy Summer!

That's a wonderful quote and it strikes me as being very special these days....I had a very nasty comment left on my blog over the weekend. It really hurt my feelings. Of course, it was left anonymously. Speaking no evil is the way we should all embrace life. Thanks.

On our walk this evening I was thinking about your verse - you have to be peaceful in the summer - it's too hot for anything else. I'm going to be peaceful and calm. Also I have no idea what kind of bug it is.

That's an excellent "summer list," and a verse I'm not familiar with. Thank you, and enjoy the start of your summer!

Lovely to be back and catching up with you here after our travels. Can't believe you were in York lately! Because of some things going on with family, we didn't venture much outside of York this time... hopefully next time we can. ;o) Now getting over jet lag... LOL! Happy Days to you all ((HUGS))

Hey...sorry for not putting the version out there. It was from The Message. I'll add it to the post as well. Be blessed.
