the madness begins

March....brings spring rains and peeping flowers.  It brings the end to winter for many...and it brings the madness of basketball tourney time!  I just love March Madness.  During March (actually all season) you'll be able to find me sitting in front of the tv watching basketball or at a game cheering on my favorite team.  Heck, the entire family is into basketball. We've got our brackets filled out and we're ready.
Maggie's basketball team is competing in the East Coast Basketball Tournament this week in Lynchburg, VA.  Teams from all along the east coast, Texas, Tennessee and Iowa will be there grinding it out.  John is one of the assitant coaches, John Samuel is one of the ball boys, Kenzie is a middle school groupy and I'm one of the chaperones. We're taking down 15 girls and our Varsity boys team is going as well.
If it's anything like last year's tournament, we'll come home loaded down with memories and in need of some serious sleep.  So in between cheering for the Warriors, I'm be checking scores and marking off my NCAA brackets.  I'll be blogging about the Warrior's games here.  And maybe, just maybe I'll get in a bit of knitting.  The gatorade is packed....see you next week!

Safe travels, Lisa! My alma mater used to be in Lynchburg. (Well, the buildings are still there, but they've let men and changed the name, so the spirit of the place has changed.) Anyway, my husband spent about an hour filling his brackets out--he does several. And in some of them he didn't pick his alma mater to advance beyond the first game (Clemson)--there's no way they'd get beyond West Virginia.

I do hope you packed some knitting. Have a great time!

Lisa, how exciting! Have fun, stay safe, cheer loudly, laugh a lot! Maggie, do your best and have fun and WIN! I'll be thinking of you.

But all i can think of right now is how you get 15 pumped up teenage girls to get some sleep in a hotel room - my kids never get any sleep the first night we spend away from home - the good part is that they pass out early on the second night.

Can't wait to hear how things went. Best of luck to you all!

Let the fun and games begin! My dad used to follow all that madness with his charts. We're SU fans around here (both my Dad's and my alma mater) -- but they usually end up disappointing. May all your teams come out on top!

Oh, you're a woman after my husband's heart - the poor man. With no television now for about 6 years, he has learned to look forward to his Thursday edition of Sports Illustrated.
Have a wonderful time!
Warm wishes and joy, Tonya
