It's a shoe in...and swap info!

My dear friend Kristyn celebrated her birthday last week and I wanted to send something that would make her smile as she is always so good at bringing smiles to my face.  When she was here over Christmas, she mentioned that she wanted to try to make some shoe bags.  Shoe bags are great for keeping your clothes and shoes separated when you pack your suitcase. Betz White has a tutorial on her blog, so after I shopped for some fun fabrics (Kristyn's favorite color is pink)....I followed Betz's tutorial and made 4 shoe bags.
Kristyn and her family travel mulitple times a year, so I knew these would get lots of use.  I don't have a serger but I wanted the inside seams to look nice, so I hooked up to Larissa's tutorial for making french seams.  I love how the inside seams look...so professional.  These were so fun to make and Larissa's directions were the perfect finishing touch.
Aren't blog friends just great for tips and tricks and patterns and stuff?!?   And speaking of friends...I've emailed everyone their swap partners.  If you didn't get an email from me with your partner and their email address, please let me know.  {my email address is on my sidebar} Thank goodness it's Friday....Shoe hope you have a great weekend!  (sorry I couldn't resist)

Your shoes bags are beautiful! (and it's not often i say that about a shoe bag) We don't travel much but i'm thinking they would be perfect for summer trips to the pool when i'm always trying to corral watches, phones, glasses and whatever else we happen to take off ourselves. Love the fabric you chose. Have a wonderful weekend girlfriend!

I love making shoe bags for gifts. My mother-in-law travels every month for work and so she received a set of shoe bags and a fabric laundry bag for Christmas this year. She loves them! Every time she puts her shoes in them, she cleans them first with a clorox wipe so they won't get the bag dirty. Cracks me up!

I never thought of making shoe bags, but would definitely use them. I tend to take a few pairs of shoes with me when we go on a trip and I really hate how dirty they may be to pack next to clothing. What a great idea, and a fun project too.

Those shoe bags are wonderful, Lisa...what a great idea, and very pretty for gift-giving! I may have to make something like that from when we travel this summer--as I usually like to pack a pair of sandals as well as comfy shoes already worn while on-the-go. I'm very excited about the swap! I did get your email, and have emailed my swap partner...Can't wait to get sewing! Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

Those are so cute! I love the fabric, too!

I know I haven't written in a bit - I have had soooo much going on here recently! =0) Last Sunday, I was ordained as an elder in our church . . . another step closer to ordination as a minister.

You are so talented!!! I have much to learn from you!

Blessings & Love,
