snowthing much

We're out from under the bulk of the snow....but it's still piled up all around outside.  We're slowly getting back to our regular routine after having all of life cancelled.  It's been nice to be home enjoying the slower pace that snow days bring.  We've been:
{playing}
{drying out}
{building}
{warming up}
{exploring}
{celebrating}
{relaxing}
We've also been shoveling, doing school, crafting, baking and watching lots of basketball.  Hope your days have been full as well...Check back later this week for sign ups and information about the Napkin Swap....

You make it look like fun! Maybe it's the whipped cream on top of the hot chocolate.

Oh, all that beautiful snow and such cozy fun days at home -- my favorite! Our snow came and went too fast for me ;-(.
Your post about making napkins with the frayed edge reminds me of a funny story my Aunt Ruth told me about my grandmother, Mimi. According to Aunt Ruth, Mimi didn't like to sew, so she would take squares of cloth to sewing club and sit there and fray the edges. Aunt Ruth said Mimi did this because if you didn't take a sewing project to sewing club, you were fined a dime, and Mimi was much too frugal to pay it. Of course, she couldn't miss sewing club b/c that's where you heard all about what was going on (aka the latest gossip) in their little town. Still makes me smile to picture Mimi sitting there fraying away on her napkins while the other ladies sewed and chattered.
Blessings,
G

Yeah -- You're going to do the swap. I'm so excited! And what a great time you are having. Snow isn't all bad -- only when you need to get somewhere and can't is it bad. I love just hanging around home in the winter.

Woo Hoo, excited about the napkin swap.

I guess a big benefit of Homeschooling is that the kids don't have to get off track with their studying.

It looks like you've all been making the best of all that snow.

I love all the photographs, but the warming up bit looks really good.

I wish we still had kids at home. I guess us old folks could do all those things, even without kids. Hmmm. That's an idea!

I love looking at snow pics, and family life...:) In California we don't get that snow, so any snow looks amazing to me! My middle daughter moved to Georgia, and sent snow pics to us this week. Beautiful photos, just wish we could be there with her to help her build the snowman...:) Although, I would be afraid to drive in that weather!

Looks like a nice way to spend some quality family time. We loved our slow pace as well here, wish it hadn't ended so soon:)

My son would go nuts over those trucks!

We're doing the same here, Lisa! Shoveling out, warming, shoveling again, making soup, shoveling again...LOL! ;o) It's been a tough winter, snow-wise...but we've also been taking more time to enjoy the slow, quiet moments too, so it's been a good mix. I just LOVE your photos here...they say, A Day in the Life of Winter! Happy Week to you all! ((HUGS))

What great times. I am ready for spring, though. Not a fan of the cold here.

Can't wait for the napkin swap. Sounds like fun and I need some more.

Hi Lisa, I always enjoy your oh so fun pictures of what you and your family are up to. This post did not disappoint. Snowdays can be great days, can't they?

Oh my goodness!! how did I miss your napkin post? I will definitely have to read that one closely. I used to make napkins, back in the day.

Thanks very much for your kind birthday wishes. :)
