the good, the bad and the crafty

The new year has gotten off to a very busy, crazy start. We've had a bit more snow and the temps are frigid; but our wood stove has been keeping us toasty. My mom had a heart procedure on Wednesday and despite a bit of a scare as she was coming out of anesthesia; she is doing great. My kids have all been fighting colds and sinus infections; but they're on the mend. My computer bit the dust; but we think the information on it is recoverable. (thanks to my wonderful husband!) I am currently using his computer so things take me a bit longer and I don't have all my 'stuff' accessible just yet...but it appears that all my 'stuff' is safe. That's much better news than the dell man, who wanted to reboot my hard drive, told me on the phone. (my advice is: BACK UP your stuff NOW!)

So, since the current conditions here have been less than bloggable...here's a peek back at some projects that Kristyn and I worked on when she was here in December. Many of you asked what we'd been up to; so here's a quick peek at our crafting blitz!
She was here for a mere week and there was so much more that we didn't get to....(darn those kids and their snow pants!) It was such a great time relaxing and recharging. I hope you're finding some time in the daily-ness of life to recharge yourself as well. (and go back up your computer stuff!)

Our computer was having some issues earlier this evening, but seems to be fine now. I had just said to my husband that we should back up some things just incase! Glad all of your stuff will be saved. Hope your kids get better soon, and all the crafting sure looks like fun! Sounds like you've been very busy. :)

What fun the two of you had! Did you sleep at all or were you completely worked up into a crafting frenzy? You dabbled in a lot of things during that week-long visit.

Oh and one more thing....I'm glad your mom is doing great. That had to be scary. My mom clunked heads with her Great Dane the other day and now she has a broken nose! Can you believe that one? These moms....They make use worry so!

You accomplished a lot in a week... despite kids and snowpants! My computer at work bit the dust last week... fortunately I am an avid "backer upper" so I didn't lose anything of any importance. Glad your mom is doing well.

You have been busy - I hope your mom is recovering nicely. I will take up your back up seriously. I need to get busy learning more about computers. I'm a plug and play kind of gal. The cards are great. I love to make cards for fun holidays.

SO glad to hear your mom is doing great. i always feel that everything is all right with the world when everyone's healthy - hope you kiddos are better soon. so that you can get back to fetching all those snow pants! i feel the same way - by the time I get all their clothes on they tell me they need a snack before we head out - then they remove the hat, scarf, gloves...argh. Love hearing about all the the crafty stuff you did with kristyn - I thought the cuffs were purse straps - can't wait to see them on you. Hope you can get back on your own computer soon thanks to your husband - my hubby is my IT guy too.

We had the pre-Christmas (in Nov) computer issues and thought we lost everything! So not good. Hope it all works out. Love all the crafting that you and Kristyn could do, we never really get all the stuff we want done! Do we?

Ooo... so much crafty goodness... I'm drooling! ;o) What fun... and such beauties made--and lots of them! So glad your Mom is OK--prayers she is recovering well. So sorry about your computer. My hubby is an IT-man by profession, and has saved our pc on many an occasion. Backing Up is the best advice! Have a great week... and keep warm! ((HUGS))
